Mittal’s biggest regret?

I was really surprised to read that Lakshmi N Mittal (the numero uno in richest Indians list) regretted never having done an MBA.

It might be that he really felt that way and shared it spontaneously or possibly wanted to perk up the morale of the students of Management who were listening to him.

The biggest advantage of a Management education is that it is a passport to a high paying job (depending upon a variety of factors including the institution). Therefore a traditional MBA course is geared to produce effective employees but clearly doesn’t prepare one to be an entrepreneur.

Is LNM saying that he is better off as an employee (hugely paid) rather than a very successful businessman?
