What a massacre!!

Sooner or later all scribes and bloggers are going to run out of adjectives to describe the Australian performance in the World cup 2007.

In the truncated match between Bangladesh and Australia (22 overs each on account of the rain), Bangladesh managed to score 104 runs for the loss of just 6 wickets in their allotted 22 overs. I would say this was really commendable considering that they were just 37 for 4 in 7.4 overs. I never thought that they would even consume the 22 overs leave alone score more than 100 runs. Good show guys!

Glenn McGrath  again struck 3 vital blows for just 16 runs and in the process became the highest wicket taker in the World cup matches to date by claiming 57 wickets (not just this tournament but the previous as well).

And then the Aussie openers Gichrist and Hayden treated themselves and the crowd to some dizzy hitting to win the match without losing a wicket and with more than 8 overs to spare. That 68 out of their 106 runs came off 4’s and 6’s is an indication of their pummeling of the B’desh bowling.

What a way to play!
